Your contract with us
The hire contract between the Hirer (hereafter “you”) and Telescopic Tents, (hereafter “us” or “we”). Please read the Terms and Conditions as set out in the FAQ

Our tents attach to standard car roof bars. Before you leave we will fit the tent securely onto your vehicle for you to ensure correct fitment. Please check with your vehicle manufacturer or check your vehicle manual for specified loading capacity of your roof rack ensuring you choose the correct roof tent product for your vehicle, taking the maximum weight limit into consideration. Your roof bars must be rated to a dynamic (when the car is moving) load equal to or greater than the weight of the tent when its empty.

Please note the Wild Cruiser 250 is one of the largest roof tents on the market and designed to fit the following vehicle types: mid-size SUV, full-size SUV, mid-size pickup, full-size pickup, trailer, van and has an overall weight of 77.5kg. The TentBox Lite is specifically designed for smaller vehicles and has an overall weight of 49kg

When a car is stationary the roof can take five times the dynamic roof load limit, therefor easily handling the weight of people inside the tent. Compliance with these maximum loads is solely your responsibility.

We take a £250 security deposit on all bookings. This will be refunded on return ensuring all item(s) are of satisfactory condition and returned in the condition in which they were hired out. Should any goods be returned damaged we will reserve the right to retain the security deposit in full or in part commensurate with damage. If the damage exceeds the security deposit amount you will be liable for full repair or replacement costs

The roof tent must stay on your vehicle for the duration of hire and only be mounted and removed by Telescopic Tents staff to ensure safety and compliance with proper installation and removal

Telescopic Tents insure the tents against theft, however it is your responsibility to insure your vehicle and to inform your insurer that your vehicle will be carrying a roof tent (if required)

Please be mindful of the additional height of your vehicle when driving below barriers and / or low obstacles

Drive through car washes are not permitted with a roof tent in situ on your vehicle

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the roof tent, this is for your own safety and to preserve the fabric of the tent. Non compliance of this will result in the loss of the security deposit for specialised cleaning.

Please ensure that all naked flames, heat appliances and cooking appliances are far enough away from the tent to avoid any damage to the roof tent

Before moving your vehicle please ensure the roof tent is fully collapsed away. Ensure the appropriate ties and straps are in place and the travel cover is on with the security clips closed

You need to be sufficiently able bodied to climb a small ladder. The ladder must be secured on level ground with the steps fully locked in place before climbing the ladder

If the roof tent is stolen while in your care, you must notify us immediately. You must contact the police and obtain a crime reference number and give this information to us

Payment can be made by bank transfer or cash

Check in after 10am, check out by 12pm. Late return fee of £75 applies. Fee applied per 24 hours thereafter. All late payment fees will be deducted from security deposit. Please get in touch with us if you know you are running late on Check out. Please allow up to 30 minutes handover period on collection / return

Please ensure you notify us as soon as possible, in writing, if you cannot proceed with your booking. We will try to rearrange in the first instance, however if this is not possible we will issue a gift card valid for 12 months. Gift vouchers are non-refundable.

50% must be paid on confirmation of booking. The remaining 50% is to be paid 4 weeks before hire. If the booking is within 4 weeks then the rental balance must be paid in full upon confirmation of booking

There will be a mandatory £25 cleaning fee added to your booking fee

We offer a 3 night minimum hire. At off peak times we can offer a degree of flexibility around this, please get in touch to see how we can help **Peak Season March to September inclusive

We do not. We firmly believe if you can grab some precious time away yourself, or with family or friends then you should grab that opportunity. Whether that's a mid week adventure or a weekend trip away the cost remains the same

Upon collection we require photographic identification and proof of address. Driving Licence or Passport are suitable forms of photographic ID. Utility bill within last 3 months is suitable form of proof of address. Unfortunately if you do not bring suitable identification we will be unable to complete the hire and there will be no refund issued.
